LAWSON, Terrence William “Terry”
Retired Owner, Goodfellow & Dougherty Ltd.
Passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in his 81st year.
Survived by his former wife, Susan Lawson, and their beloved children, Todd Lawson (Jennie) and Sarah Lawson (David Krueger). Cherished grandfather of Halle, Cassidy, Cooper, Reese, and Lawson. Dear brother of Grant (Priscilla), Carol Marsland (John), and Gregg (Shelley Obbard). Son of William (Bill) Lawson and Audrey (Hagan) predeceased. Terry will be sadly missed by his partner Marcy Kennedy, his many nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends.
Terry was the longtime owner of Goodfellow & Dougherty Mechanical Contracting, a business he was deeply proud of and dedicated to for many years. He was also 'President of the World Famous Peterborough Hotpoints Hockey Club', a role that suited his love of the game and brought him incredible happiness.
Terry enjoyed working, farming, playing hockey and guitar, but above all else, he loved people. His quick wit, jovial sense of humour, warm spirit, and unmistakable laugh could fill any room. Wherever he went, he made friends easily, and those friends quickly became like family. Known as the “life of the party,” Terry brought joy, stories, jokes and laughter to every gathering. His absence will be deeply felt, but his spirit will live on in the many lives he touched.
There will be a Celebration of Terry’s Life held at the PETERBOROUGH GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB, 1030 Armour Rd., Peterborough on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 1:00-4:00 PM. In memory of Terry and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society Peterborough (Alzheimer Society PKLNH) would be appreciated by the family.
