Vernon Malloy passed away peacefully on December 30th., 2025 at PRHC Peterborough in his 92nd year. Vernon was born in Coe-Hill Ont. on January 4th, 1934, to his loving parents, Peter and Jean Malloy.
Loving and devoted husband of Diane Malloy, married 67 years. Cherished and much-loved father to his five children: Janet Malloy, Judy Bozec (Michael), Janine Burke (David), Peter Malloy (Jane), Julie Steckley (Kent).
His beloved grandchildren: Amy (Eric), Tyler (Christina), Ryan, Joshua (Tori), Tanner, Kurtis (Courtney), Tim (Meghan), Mellissa (Kyle) and his beloved great grandchildren: James (Katie), Ava, Titan, Athena, Avery, Evelyn, Emery.
Brother to: Michael (Noreen), Barbara (late Brian), Mary Jo (late Mark). Predeceased by brothers: Norman (Sharon), Gerard, Howard. Sisters: Betty (late Claire), Patricia (late Barry).
Vernon was treasured by innumerable nieces, nephews and wonderful friendships that would last a lifetime. He loved having his family close and welcomed all who came to visit, the more the merrier. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Vernon enjoyed a long career until he retired at the age of 55. He and Diane spent many happy years in the home that they built on Monck Lake, which we lovingly call our cottage. It's been our family gathering place for almost 40 years.
His family and loved ones would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding care that Vernon received throughout his journey from the B3 Nursing staff at PRHC.
Please join us for a Memorial Mass on Saturday January 3rd, 2026, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 11:00 am, Keene Road, Peterborough with a reception to follow at the parish hall. Interment will take place at Highland Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers you can choose to honor Vernon's memory with a donation to the PRHC Foundation.
