Obituary

Passed peacefully on Friday March 3, 2023 at the age of 92.  Bill is predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years Barbara (2022).  Father of Paul and his wife Pat and Brian and his wife Diana.  Proud Grandpa of Matthew (Dara), Adam and Lauren.  Bill will be sadly missed by his sister Norma Lee Demchuk and her partner Ron.  He is predeceased by his brother George and twin brother Art.  Fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Barbara Scully (Mel deceased) and Barbara Scully (Allan deceased).  Bill is survived by many nieces and nephews and their extended families.  

Bill was born and raised in Toronto and worked there all his life.  He spent numerous years working at book distributing/publishing companies wrapping up his career at Confederation Life.  When he wasn’t at work in his earlier years, he enjoyed volunteering as a cub leader.  He took much pleasure in cultivating his gardens and a Saturday afternoon beer in the backyard of Cora Crescent in Scarborough with the neighbours.  

Retirement brought Bill and Barb to Peterborough during which years they continued to enjoy travel to Florida, Cuba and other parts of the Caribbean.  He was an avid and long suffering Toronto Maple Leafs fan and enjoyed watching hockey and other sports on television. 

The family would like to thank all the health care professionals and caring neighbours who helped to keep Dad in his own home as long as possible.  Your efforts will not be forgotten!   Now Bill and Barb are together again. 

At Bill’s request, cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life for both Bill and Barb will take place this summer.
