William ‘Glenn’ Heard passed away peacefully on November 27th at Hospice Peterborough after a short yet courageous battle with cancer.
Glenn was a dearly loved father to Rob Heard (Janet) and Alley Murphy (Dylan), and a ‘silly’ grandpa to Veira and Vince Murphy. He was a cherished brother to Shelly Neil and Kathy Guest (Ron); uncle to Kim Embury, Scott Neil, Steve Guest, and great uncle to many who will miss him. Glenn is predeceased by his parents Harry and Louise Heard and nephew Ronnie Guest who all held a special place in his heart.
From a young age, Glenn embraced the family tradition of horse racing, a passion he carried for nearly thirty years. Those decades created countless memories and stories that will continue to be shared with smiles and laughter.
Glenn spent his later years living and working in Nampa, Alberta, where he formed a close circle of friends who became like family. He will be remembered as a quick-witted straight shooter with a sharp sense of humour.
The family invites you to share photos, memories, and condolences by visiting the Highland Park Funeral Centre website.
Donations in Glenn’s honour may be made to Hospice Peterborough. A special thank you to Dr. Jonathan Mallory for his unwavering compassion and for honoring Glenn’s wishes over the past few months, and to all those who cared for Glenn in the palliative care unit at PRHC and at Hospice Peterborough.
