William 'Bill' Leslie Ogilvie

William (Bill) Ogilvie passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Bill was born on May 14, 1934, in Ottawa, to Alberta and Walter Ogilvie. He graduated with a B.S.C in Agriculture (Agronomy) in 1956 from McDonald Campus of McGill University, where he met his wife of 69 years, Sybil Rhona Ogilvie. Upon graduation, Bill and Rhona moved to Aylmer, where Bill worked at Imperial Tobacco, and then on to London, where Bill graduated from Western University in 1961 with an M.B.A. From there, Bill embarked on his 33-year career at Quaker Oats of Canada. Bill retired to his beloved farm in 1994 where he was a gentleman farmer for over 50 years. Bill was an elder at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, and a charter member of St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church. He was President of the P.M.L.A. and Peterborough Junior Lacrosse. Bill golfed weekly and enjoyed his Monday afternoon poker games with the boys.

Bill is survived by his wife, Rhona, daughter Leslie (David McDermott), sons Doug, Bruce (Andrea), and Andy, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Highland Park Funeral Centre, 2510 Bensfort Road, Peterborough.  In lieu of flowers, donations made to the PRHC Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
