(William) Kenneth Jenkins

Jenkins, Mr. (William) Kenneth passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Wednesday September 13t, 2023 in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Johnston) for 70 years. Son of (William) Russell (Irene) Jenkins. Cherished father of Larry (Beatrice), Lorraine Fry, the late Lorne (the late Brenda), the late Leslie, Lloyd (Darlene), Lyle, Leon (Wanda), and Lorrie Jenkins. Sadly, missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Dear brother of Fran (Tom) Keightly, Loa predeceased by (Bill) White, Grace (John) Murrie, Allan (Edna) Jenkins and Mary (Vince) Woodhouse. Kenneth a dedicated farmer, and a man of many passions. Kenneth’s love for the land was unwavering, as he tended to his fields with care and dedication throughout his life. Beyond the farm, he was an avid reader, finding solace in the pages of books that transported him to far-off worlds. Kenneth’s appreciation of life’s simple pleasures extended to his love of food, savoring each meal (dessert) with a twinkle in his eye. He cherished moments spent with his family at the cottage, where the warmth of the heart and the laughter of family and friends filled the air. Board games were a source of joy for him, and he was a fierce euchre player, always ready for a challenging game with loved ones. In the hearts of those who knew him, Kenneth will forever be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love of the land, his passion for literature, and his zest for the pleasures of life. He leaves behind cherished memories that will be treasured by family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Kenneth, your legacy lives on in the fields you tended and the love you shared. Please join the family for visitation Tuesday September 19th 7:00-9:00pm, Service Wednesday September 20th at 11:00am at Highland Park Funeral Chapel located at 2510 Bensfort Rd Peterborough, followed by a reception 12:00-2:00pm and burial at 2:30pm at Rosemount Memorial Gardens 2551 Whittington Dr. Peterborough.
