Winifred (Worley) McKenzie 

June 20, 1930 - October 5, 2025

Winifred (Wynn) McKenzie passed away peacefully with her beloved son by her side on Sunday, October 5th.  Wynn was the daughter of Walter and Nora Worley of Gateshead, England; and dear wife of John William McKenzie (d. 1996); loving mother to sons Ian (d. 2023) and Keith (Susan) McKenzie.  She is predeceased by siblings Ralph, Kitty, Bill, John, Arthur and Harold.  Loving Grandmother to Holly (Kyle) Wiseman, Scott (d. 2023), Caleigh (Dean) McKenzie, and Lauren Cole; and adored great-grandmother to Eden and Asher Wiseman. 

Special companion to Tony Caucut of Florida.   Dear Aunt to Joyce, Kevin, Steven, Kathleen, Elaine, Theresa, Bill, and Kathleen.

Wynn grew up in Gateshead, England, and was one of the many children who were evacuated during The Blitz in WWII.  She married her husband, John, at age 17 and after their time in England, they immigrated to Canada in 1960 with their two young sons.  They had many wonderful years in Toronto near where her siblings and their families had also settled.  Wynn was a long-time employee of T. Eaton Co. where she retired at age 55.  She and John retired to Florida in the winters and spent their summers in Ennismore.  Wynn was an avid golfer, reader, bowler, card player, puzzler, taught herself to knit at an early age, and was still knitting until recently.  A strong woman, as many of her era were, she never complained, and was always grateful.  

There will be a celebration of Wynn’s life at Highland Park Funeral Centre on Saturday, October 18th from 1:00 TO 3:00 pm with words of remembrance at 2:00PM.  In her memory, and in lieu of flowers, donations to PRHC Foundation would be appreciated by her family.
