Basciano, Patricia Anne (nee Beresford, formerly Chambers). On Friday, June 16th, 2017 at the age of 84, our lovely mother was reunited with the “love of her life”, her husband Tony (d. 2008), after a long and courageous battle with many health issues. Even up until the very end, Mom’s pleasant nature and positive attitude made her a joy to be around.
Following her retirement from Outboard Marine, Mom spent her time in service to others. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, organized trips and activities for the Legion’s Seniors Club and ran the Breakfast Program at St. Peter’s Elementary School for many years.
Her family was her greatest joy and she will be forever missed by her children Warren Chambers (Valerie Evans), Karen Schweier (Glenn Macdonald), Nicole Cooke (husband Dave) and her step-children Anthony Basciano, Angela Basciano and Gina Martin (husband Doug). Much loved Grandma to Paul Chambers (wife Beth), Hannah Chambers, Madison Cook (husband Chad), Nikki Schweier, Sarah, Charlotte & Bridget Cooke, Dana Basciano, Anthony Basciano Jr., Ashley & Victoria Martin. Proud GG of several great-grandchildren. Affectionately known as “Theresa” to her brothers Vince Beresford (predeceased) and his wife Anne, Lawrence Beresford, and Gerald Beresford (predeceased) and his wife Lauza. She was “Aunt Pat” to more nieces and nephews to count and she loved each one. Mom will be missed by Tony’s brothers Andy Basciano (wife Teresa) and Eric Basciano and most especially by her best friend Hellen Basciano (Mike Basciano predeceased). Mom enjoyed meeting “The Girls” at their monthly dinner club and weekend adventures and we thank you for being such wonderful friends to our mother for over 50 years. We cannot express enough gratitude to the staff at St. John’s Centre, Extendicare Peterborough and the PRHC Dialysis Unit for the wonderful care and kindness shown to our mother and our family over the years.
Visitation will be at HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road on Wednesday, June 21st from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in ST. ANNE’S CHURCH on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the PRHC Dialysis Unit or the Juvenile Diabetes Research foundation (JDRF) would be appreciated by the family.
