I was so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. My sincere sympathy and thoughts are with you and your family at this very sad time. Over the years, as a member of the Peterborough Police Service, our paths crossed many times. I was always impressed with Doug's professionalism. I found him friendly, honest, sincere and a pleasure to be around. We had many conversations both at work and at the rink during our grandson's hockey games. A short memory about Doug...
On my first evening at Brampton O.P.P. Academy (13 September 1982 ) for orientation I met Doug for the first time. He was working out and pumping iron in the gym as was his passion at the time.. Doug and I spoke about the job, the things that where ahead not only for me but for my family. He gave me a great sense of the importance the position of Constable was. I carried his thoughts with me throughout my 31 year with the O.P.P. I was also lucky to work with Doug when I returned to Peterborough... Rest in Peace Dougie.....Rest in Peace... Jim
