LYONS, Thomas Edward

Passed away peacefully at Warkworth Place on Friday, September 23rd, 2016 in his 83rd year. Loving husband of the late Lucille Perrier (2003). Devoted father of Patricia Lyons-Johnson (Brian) and Jennifer Pitts (David). Adored grandfather of Sarah, Michael, Graham and Eric. Cherished brother of Frank Lyons (Anne) and brother-in-law of Estelle Mandrow (the late Peter), Arthur Perrier (Louise) and Lise Perrier (the late Roland). Predeceased by his parents Francis and Ida (nee Bourke) and sister-in-law Lorraine Combot (Edward). Tom led a fascinating career as an Ontario Land Surveyor (OLS) for almost 40 years and held the position of President of the Association of OLS in 1979. He was also a proud Rotary Club Member where he was the President in 1989 and a Paul Harris Fellow. Tom will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, friends and all who knew him. In accordance with Tom’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road, on Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Cathedral, 411 Reid Street, on Wednesday, September 28th, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Reception at the Highland Park Funeral Centre. Private family inurnment will take place at Little Lake Cemetery. If desired, donations made in Tom’s memory to Easter Seals Ontario would be greatly appreciated.
